Student Success Statement

" Only those live who do good"

-Count Leo Tolstoy

This is an outstanding statement by Count Leo Tolstoy about doing good. If you do something bad you will be overthinking what you did for the rest of your life feeling guilty because it will stay in your conscious for the rest of your life. In the other hand if you were to do something good then you would feel good because you did something that people don't do. So instead of CTW you should do whats right. In conclusion do whats right to feel right, do whats wrong and feel wrong.

Student Success Statement

"What's right isn't always popular. What's popular isn't always right."

- Albert Einstein

This is a great statement by Einstein. It explains much more wisdom in 10 words then anything i have ever heard, and these might be the 10 words you need to remember when you go out with friends with bad intentions. Although you may think that one drink is not bad, it can lead up to you drinking everyday. If you always do whats popular you will never succeed in life because you are settling to be popular then to be a CTR person 24/7 and better yourself daily. Sadly many people think just because something is uncool i am going to avoid it and it shouldn't be like that. A perfect example is a teenager going out for the first time and being exposed to drugs and alcohol, obviously if someones new sees someone old doing something he will try to copy or do the same. My point is to avoid going to parties in the first place if you don't want to get into bad habits because us human beings say one thing bu do the complete opposite so just make sure you choose whats right and not always popular and you will be fine.

Business Administration

Growing up I looked up to the hardworking people in the big buildings of Downtown Los Angeles or New York and I someday wanted to work in a 200 floor Building. As years went by i started to wonder what i wanted to be, When i found out that business and administrators handle operational responsibilities for the companies i realized it was for me. Business and Administration is one of the highest paying jobs at 87,110 a year but it takes a lot of responsibility which i am willing to take. I want to be able to achieve my goal of working in a big city doing what i want to do for the rest of my life. There are many other things i could do if i study business not limiting myself to working in an office when later on in life i can run my own business. This topic is what i am planning my life on.

     Student Success Statement

  A Choice: Poverty or Prosperity

" I hated poverty. Poverty is the more of a choice than anything else, and i can change that. It depends on how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it."

- Dr. Ben Carson

This is an outstanding quote by our very own Dr. Ben Carson. Carson was a well known individual for his presidential run in 2016 and also known as a neurosurgeon who separated conjoined twins but his backstory he went through poverty an the says it didn't stop him from achieving his ultimate goal on become a doctor. I  general this quote expresses how if you are dedicated no obstacle will fall in your way. It will only slow you down if you let it slow you down, but you should go right through the hardest situations. Poverty is only an obstacle that some people go through but don't let it dictate your life.

Current Health  Related Issue

1. The health topic that has currently impacted the United States is Obesity.

2. Obesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight, which means weighing too much. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and/or body water. Both terms mean that a person's weight is greater than what's considered healthy for his or her height.

3. Obesity happens over time when you eat more calories than you use. The balance between calories-in and calories-out differs for each person. Factors that might affect your weight include your genetic makeup, overeating, eating high-fat foods, and not being physically active.

5. this is important to know about because it is happening all around us and no one is taking action, the end of the day you will be suffering the consequence of obesity.

4. Obesity increases your risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and some cancers. If you have obesity, losing even 5 to 10 percent of your weight can delay or prevent some of these diseases. For example, that means losing 10 to 20 pounds if you weigh 200 pounds.

WRONG IS NEVER RIGHT!

Student Success Statement

"Even if everyone is doing it, WRONG is NEVER RIGHT."-Russell M. Nelson

This is an outstanding quote by our very own Russell Nelson. He explains how doing what is wrong is never right. Even if everyone is doing the wrong thing it doesn't change the fact that is was bad in the first place. Sometimes you do things because other people do but that shouldn't be the case you should stand up for whats right even if you stand alone because it will make you a better person without you even knowing. In life there will be obstacles and as long as you are choosing the right it will be easier to face those obstacles because at the end of the day you did whats right and you did what you could so that makes you a CTR person and that is the most important thing in life being  great person without being asked to do it.

Never

Student Success Statement

"You can't be right by doing wrong; you cant be wrong by doing right."

- Thomas S. Monson

This is an outstanding quote by our very own Thomas S. Monson who my rest in peace. This quote shows how as long as you choose the right there is no possible way it can be wrong even if odds are against you, stand for what is right and ignore what is wrong. I understand that some people get peer pressured to doing whats wrong but if you know its wrong you should choose he right. Personally i feel this quote is spot on it explains how if you choose the right you cant be wrong this can maybe change the mindset on people choosing the right. A perfect example of something not being right by being wrong is hard work, you cant choose the easy way b using performance enhancer and expect to get away with it. You should do it the hard way and work to become great without cheating, because you cant expect to be right when you do whats wrong.

6. I promise i will never smoke marijuana ever in my life even though a friend or someone close to me does it, peer pressure will not change my perspective on how nasty and disgusting weed is. Society pro treys marijuana as cool but i think drugs are bad for you and i would never do them so count me out.

"I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do the right thing."- Dean Smith

This is an outstanding quote our very own Dean smith. It shows how when you are doing the right thing there are no limits to the things you may get in return. Although sometimes you may not get rewarded for doing something you shouldn't be upset because what matters is having a good will. At times when someones a great inspiration to others they will get acknowledged but what matters is that you are helping others. Dean smith was a perfect example of a person who was willing to dedicate time to coaching and he not only got recognized for being a good coach but a couple players he coached went on to be in the Hall of Fame and they say that coach smith was a great inspiration to them, so it shows what being a good person can lead to.

Student Success Statement: Karma will take care of itself

Student Success Statement

"It's not about how to achieve your dreams. It's how to lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma(good results, destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you." - Dr. Randy Pausch

This is a marvelous quote by Dr. Pausch who unfortunately passed away. This quote shows how not everyone gets a chance to live a dream life but as long as you live it the CTR way it doesn't matter because your dreams will no longer matter, slow instead of dreaming of things they will slowly become reality. But the main thing that is important is making sure you do not give up along the way because we dont always get what we want but we have to settle with what you get.

School Back Days

This summer i mainly relaxed. I finally got quality time to spend alone. Some places i went included museums, the zoo, and also some amusement parks. I met some family i didn't grow up with and we caught up on a lot of things.i honestly didn't go to the movies throughout my break but i did binge watch a couple of shows. Over the 3 weeks i attended basketball everyday for about 3 hours. I encountered many people giving food to the homeless and that inspired me to go give blankets for those in need during the cold winter. I finished reading the perks of being a wallflower but that was it.They did not assign me homework. My highlight of the winter break was spending time with loved ones. Most of the time we are so busy doing things that we dont realize that family is important. So i think i got enough time to bond with not only my parents but also my brothers and sister, the worse part of my break was to come back to school
